Student Wellbeing

We recognise that strong staff-student relationships underpin effective teaching and learning. Our physical structures as well as policies and practices support the development of these relationships.

The promotion of wellbeing is central to learning and teaching in contemporary learning environments. At St Lawrence Primary School we recognize that children learn best when they are in a safe and engaging environment.

We aim to promote:

  • A positive sense of self in relationship with God and others
  • A sense of optimism and confidence in one’s abilities
  • Parent and community partnerships with our school
  • Opportunities to enhance student engagement, connectedness and belonging
  • The explicit teaching of social and emotional skills

Our students are involved in a number of programs to promote wellbeing including:

  • Student Leadership
  • Circle Time
  • Wellbeing sessions
  • Student wellbeingSocial Emotional Learning
  • Peaceful Kids program
