St Lawrence Primary School has a learner-centred approach to curriculum design and
implementation. The curriculum is formed from the Victorian Essential Learning Standards
which aim to help students develop a set of knowledge, skills and behaviours which
will prepare them for success in their world.
Lifelong learning is a key understanding for students and staff and therefore the
curriculum, teaching practices and learning environments are stimulating, engaging
and support learning in different ways and at different stages of development.
In order to cover the significant content within the curriculum framework, an Inquiry
Approach is used to provide students with the opportunity to develop as lifelong
learners who have the capacity to think and know how to learn.
The use of Information and Communication Technology as a teaching and learning tool
is an important element of our curriculum. |
